We've been looking forward to it: our first long sail! We set off from La Rochelle at 12 noon on Monday, head to Brest!
While all the weather models predicted a lack of wind, we were treated to fine weather, with enough wind to make between 4 and 7 knots on the water for 60 hours! We had to endure a little rain and swell on the first night, but the next few days were mild and windy.
And then... the crew isn't going to melt! Everyone tied up nicely.
We had some nice surprises! Here are a few of them:
-Bioluminescent phytoplankton that lit up to the rhythm of Carlina's movements on the water at night.
-Dolphins! Tons of dolphins! Enough to take the crew back to childhood!
-We caught a fine mackerel that delighted us for a meal.
-Wonderful sunsets, as moving as they were inspiring.
We finally arrived in Brest at first light on Thursday.
