Cam Ocean - 2nd edition

 Saturday May 18

Co-organized with Lausanne's LUC Voile, the day is dedicated to bringing sailing, frugal science and low-tech to as many people as possible! This year, in addition to sailing on Lake Geneva and workshops, there will be a forum with several associations on hand to help you discover their mission. At the end of the afternoon, a conference and round-table discussion will take place with various speakers. The day will close with a concert and jam session in collaboration with Musical.

This event is supported by Explore and inspired by their Ocean Camp.

Past Events

April 18-20, 2024 - Conference

Sailowtech has been invited by the Chritian Le Provost Océanographe association to Saint-Brieuc to talk to French preparatory students about scientific research. Our members will also attend conferences on oceanographic research, and will set up a stand to present the association.

April 9, 2024 - Workshop

 As part of the World Week organized by the Ingénieur-es du Monde at EPFL, we held a workshop. Servane, a member of the Atlantea expedition crew, presented her experience on board. We also ran a workshop on a range of low-tech products made by our members.

March 7, 2024 - AGM Association of Lake Geneva Sailing Clubs

Danaé and Maud, two members of our association, were invited to the Annual General Meeting of theDanaé and Maud, two members of our association, were invited to the Annual General Meeting of the. They presented Sailowtech and our Alpine Lake expedition.

ACVL  includes Swiss Lake Geneva clubs belonging to the Swiss Sailing Federation, the Lac de Joux club and French Lake Geneva clubs belonging to the French Sailing Federation.

 

March 6, 2024 - Sustainability Week

You could find us at our stand during the sustainability week to find out how Sailowtech is contributing to a greener future.

The sustainability week is organized by Unipoly committeethe UNIL-EPFL environmental association.The largest student sustainability project in Switzerland, it takes place every spring semester on campus and aims to raise students' awareness of sustainability and ecological issues.

December 19, 2023 - Advent Chalet

In collaboration with LUC Voile, we set up an Advent chalet to distribute free crêpes reminiscent of the Breton origins of our founders!

October 31, 2023 - Forum des 100

Margot Romelli, founder of Sailowtech, represented us at the Forum des 100. She lit up the stage to present the Atlantea expedition, motivations and objectives.

The event, held on the EPFL campus, brought together the 100 most influential personalities in French-speaking Switzerland in 2023, giving Sailowtech an opportunity to make a name for itself with some of the biggest names in the industry! 

We would like to thank Le Temps for their invitation! 

September 28, 2023 - Studentalk

Juliette, our administrator, gave a talk on the Sailowtech community and commitment. Her speech convinced the jury, winning the association first place and 400chf in prize money! Thanks to the organizers Junior Entreprise EPFL and TEDxEcublens
this event! And thank you ManyWays for the prize ! 

Sept 26 to 28, 2023 - Stand at EPFL Association Week

You are on the campus of EPFL and you have the curiosity for the association Sailowtech? This event is for you ! You will have the opportunity to meet with members of the association of Sailowtech and ask all your questions.

July 10, 2023 - Stand at the opening of the Swiss Solar Boat

Swiss Solar Boat is an association and an academic project of EPFL who designs a solar boat performance. We have had the joy of taking a stand at the opening of their new boat!!!! 

June 1, 2023 - Stand in Vivapoly

Vivapoly is an event festive EPFL where all the associations in the campus can be represented in order to take a stand with entertainment, food, and drinks. This was the occasion for Sailowtech asserting its new place on the campus.

May 30, 2023 - Conference-Debate

We had the pleasure of hosting a conference debate on Tuesday 30 may at 18: 30 at the Cultural Centre Cape Town of Plérin sur Mer, in order to share our vision of the shipping and navigation.

May 6, 2023 - Camp Ocean

An event never seen to bring the Ocean on the campus of the EPFL ! Co-organized with the LUKE Veil of Lausanne, it was a day dedicated to navigation, science frugal environment, the low-tech and education ! This event is supported by Exploring and inspired their Camp Ocean.

28-29 April 2023 - Doors open EPFL

More than 25’000 visitors were present on April 29 and 30 to discover the universe of captivating and fast-paced EPFL. Sailowtech to participate in this big event by taking a stand to raise awareness on the Ocean, plankton, and of the dangers which threaten them. 

March 2, 2023 - Workshop

In the framework of the Week of the World organized by the association Engineer·e·s of the World at EPFL, we held a workshop interractif on the themes of science frugal environment, philosophy, low-tech, environment and the Ocean. This week was for the purpose to provide an opening to the world and the engineering in the world, while raising awareness of the issues of development!

November 2022 to May 2023 - Teaching Workshop

In collaboration with the Department for the Promotion of Science at EPFL, we have to make more than a score of intervention at CERN in Geneva, for the Coding Club at EPFL or for a club of math reserved for the girls. 

December 28, 2022 - Conference

We have had the honor to do an intervention with older people from the fantastic residence Spaces & Life Rennes Mabilais, in order to present our activities and our ambitions and collect their valuable feedback and advice!

November 26, 2022 - Teaching Workshop

We have had the joy of holding our first workshop with the Department for the Promotion of Science EPFL with young people aged 12 to 15 years, in order to present a range of different themes, such as the oceans, currents, plankton, and the shipping Atlantea. 

4 October 2022 - Forum EPFL

We held a booth at the Start-up day of the 40 years of the largest recruitment fair in Europe: Forum EPFL.
